Each month, Realcomp’s staff supports a different charity by raising funds and/or donating goods and/or services to the cause. During the month of August, Realcomp raised money and goods to support the Garden City Burger Transition Center. The Burger school for students with autism is dedicated to maximizing the potential of each student.
The adult students often work on learning how to perform various kinds of assembly jobs. The goal is to transition students to eventually be self-supporting. One of the assembly jobs involves building emergency backpacks for the classrooms. So, the students take the donated items (i.e. stress ball-type toys, fidget spinners, colored pencils, crayons, snacks, etc.) and the items they will purchase with the donation monies and create the backpacks that are later used by the students as learning aids. The Burger Center was very pleased with the donations on behalf of Realcomp.
