Clarification of NAR’s Newer Address Requirement on Listings

During Realcomp’s April Board of Governors meeting, the Realcomp Board passed a MOTION regarding a recommendation they received from the MLS User Committee to exempt Commercial properties from the NAR policy that requires the property address be included on all listings submitted to the MLS.

Earlier this year, Realcomp adopted the NAR policy requiring the property address to be provided on listings. However, the policy was presented to MLSs as being optional for commercial listings. The approved motion from April exempts Commercial listings from this Realcomp policy.

When an address does not exist or is not being provided on a listing, a property ID number and legal description continue to be required for describing the location of the property.
