2016 Begins with New Corporate Structure for Realcomp

Since 1994, Realcomp has operated under a Shareholder Subscription Service Agreement and a set of Bylaws that were drafted and accepted by the then Shareholders of Realcomp. Since that time, we have added new shareholders and some have merged. We now have eight (8) shareholders of Realcomp. They are:

Eastern Thumb Association of REALTORS^®
Greater Metropolitan Association of REALTORS^®
Grosse Pointe Board of REALTORS^®
Livingston Association of REALTORS^®
Lapeer and Upper Thumb Association of REALTORS^®
North Oakland County Board of REALTORS^®

There have been many modifications to these operating documents over the years. And, in 2013 when the agreements were once again up for renewal, the Shareholders felt it was time for a new set of governing documents to make them more current for today’s operations.

So, what changed? The biggest changes, other than the technology requirements, surround the structure of the Board of Governors. Each of our shareholders appoints or elects two (2) representatives for the Board of Governors. Several years ago, that was changed to include an alternate governor seat to fill in if one of the members from that shareholder was unable to attend the meeting. The shareholders felt that position was no longer needed. So the Board of Governors once again consists of sixteen (16) members – two (2) from each shareholder.

The Board continues to meet each month. They review recommendations for new products and services or changes to the current rules and policies from the various User Committees and Staff.

On Friday, January 29th, our 2016 Board of Governors held their first meeting of the year and elected an Officers. They are as follows:

2016 Executive Committee Officers: President - Frank Tarala, Vice President - Tracey Nesbitt, Treasurer - Terry Danielian, and Secretary - David Elya.
