Realtor.com® is continually evolving our experience to better serve consumers and our agent and broker customers. Buying and selling a home at the same time can be stressful, especially in a competitive housing market, and timing a home purchase and sale is the most common pain point we hear from homeowners. Our Sellers’s Marketplace, which launched in July 2020, helps consumers learn about and evaluate options that can help ease them through the buy-sell process.
Beginning December 3, 2021, we will test a small promotional pop-up banner on Listing Display Pages that promotes our Seller’s Marketplace to consumers who may be considering a home purchase and sale. Seller’s Marketplace helps consumers learn about their selling options, including listing their home on the open market with an agent, instant cash offers, sale-leasebacks, and buy now–sell later programs. The experience positions agents as experts who can help homeowners on their journey, including with both listing their home for sale, as well as understanding the different selling options available in their market, so they can make the best decisions for themselves and their family.
The national test will target 50% of home shoppers, excluding users identified as first-time home buyers and those who aren't selling a property, have an agent, or have already generated a seller lead,
and will last approximately 30 days. We believe this test will help us drive homeowner traffic on the site and capture more leads from motivated sellers while helping them feel more confident in their ability to sell and buy a home at the same time.
