Frequently Asked Question about Leases and Pets

Q:  How do I find lease properties in the MLS that allow the tenant to have a cat and/or a dog?

A:  Using either the Residential Quick or Detail search options, you are able to “Add” (from the Additional Fields option near the bottom of the screen) the “Tenant Amenities” feature group to your search.

If you are using the Residential Lease search, the Tenant Amenities field will already be on the criteria screen, located in the left column toward the bottom of the page.

NEXT, select the “Dogs Allowed” and “Cats Allowed” features (shown below). If you need both to be allowed, be sure to select the “and” option, which appears below the feature selections. If you’re looking for a property that allows either, be sure to choose the “or” option.

Along with the other feature choices listed and the “And”, “Or”, and “Not” modifiers, you really can search for properties for your clients based on their specific needs (i.e. they need a lease that allows pets, one that does not allow them, or one that is negotiable).
