Social Media is Here to Stay!

Your clients and future clients are already there, what are you waiting for?

While you do not need to be an expert on social media, you do need to get started with at least one social media platform. There are vast resources available online to help you get started and market yourself on social media.

Use of personal social media profiles is not enough. Set up a business page on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and/or any other social media platform you choose. Make sure to upload a profile picture and information about yourself and your business. Many people will not “follow” or “friend” an account that does not have a profile picture and profile information.

Post information about yourself. Build a rapport with your followers. Just like building a rapport face-to-face, social media followers like to know you. This happens through sharing information about yourself, while being mindful to not “over share”.

Post pictures of new listings, open houses, sold listings, satisfied buyers and sellers, and listing status changes worth mentioning on social media.

If a future client is considering a move to a certain type of home or location (i.e. maybe on a lake), and you happen to post a new listing that matches, this certainly could motivate him or her to contact you!

Imagine a post or tweet that says: “Happy day! Received three offers in less than two days on the market … 1321 Sunset Place is SOLD!” It could be another motivating factor for future clients who are contemplating selling their home to contact you. Once you get started and begin to get comfortable with one social media platform, move on to master another. Social media is here to stay!
