We’ve all heard the adage: “Necessity is the mother of invention”. But, at the MLS, we continually see this proverb played out on a daily basis – even now during the COVID-19 pandemic.
REALTORS® not being able to physically show homes due to Michigan’s “Stay at Home, Stay Safe” Order, tech-savvy sellers confined to their homes but wanting to “show” them to potential buyers, and a wide array of virtual chat tech-tools that allow sellers to provide virtual walk-throughs to potential buyers all leading to our newest system enhancement … Virtual Open House scheduling through RCO3®.
With the new Virtual Open House scheduling option, a Realcomp REALTOR® can now schedule a live Virtual Open House event on their listing for a specific date and time through Realcomp’s existing Open House module and promote the meeting/event URL (set up by sellers through Zoom, Facebook Live, or other preferred solution) to other REALTORS and/or their clients.
During the Virtual Open House event, sellers perform a virtual tour of their home using their smart phone or tablet, show property features, and answer questions. Ideally, both listing and selling agents would participate in the virtual event also through the meeting/event URL.
For now, while the Governor’s Executive Order is in place, Virtual Open Houses are the only kind of open house that can be scheduled on RCO3®.
Realcomp will also begin sharing the Virtual Open House data with our 3rd Party and IDX vendors so consumers visiting related websites can access the Virtual Open Houses as well.
To Search Virtual Open Houses:
- Choose Search>>More>>Tour/Open House Search
To Add a Virtual Open House:
- Choose MyRCO>>MyListings>>MyActiveListings
- Click the MLS number of your listing
- Choose Edit>>Manage Open Houses
- Enter the Virtual Open House date, start time, end time, meeting/event URL, and event description.
- When finished entering details, click Submit Listing.
