Property Showing Etiquette
Please remember to identify yourself as an agent if calling to schedule a showing.
Checklist Dos for Showings:
- Leave the property as you found it.
- Collect any papers or trash and remove garbage from property.
- Tidy up any items that may have been moved.
- Return blinds/curtains to their original position.
- Do a quick walkthrough to make sure everything is the same as when you arrived.
- Turn off all lights.
- Shut and lock all doors – don’t forget basement and garage.
- Return Key to the Lockbox.
Checklist Don'ts:
- This should go without saying, but agents and buyers should NEVER ...
- Make adjustments to mechanicals (i.e., thermostats, furnaces, air conditioners, hot water tanks, toilet lines, etc.) in the home.
- Rearrange or remove furniture, wall decor, or rugs.
