Realcomp Transitions to Remine as Its New Source for Public Record Data

Realcomp is currently in the process of making an important transition from one data provider to another for the purposes of improving your access to timely and accurate public record data (i.e. land, tax, and deed) updates.

For many years now, Realcomp has licensed its public record data directly from CoreLogic (our MLS system vendor). However, due to ongoing delays in receiving data updates from them, Realcomp has made the important decision to license its public record data from Remine instead.

As a part of this transition to a new data provider, Realcomp will remove the old public record data in RCO3® (licensed from CoreLogic) from the system on November 1. Replacement data from Remine will then be made available that same day. This initial load of data will be a limited release with deeds, a small number of property descriptive fields (like acreage, lot frontage and lot depth), legal descriptions, property and owner names and addresses, 2017 taxes, and Summer 2018 taxes for the 17 counties that make up Southeast Michigan. We are expecting to have either Summer 2018 taxes or Winter 2017 taxes along with deeds for most of the rest of the lower peninsula.

Moving forward from November 1, we will be working with Remine to fill out the rest of Michigan for annual assessment and tax history back 5 years, expanded property descriptive data, and deeds. In fact, once we’re finished you’ll see deeds for more counties (75) than we ever had before (62) as well as new property descriptive fields.

During our transition, if you don’t see what you’re looking for in PRD on RCO3® we recommend that you use the Remine product for access to the most up-to-date public record data available. There is a link to Remine under the PRD menu in RCO3® as well as from the Login Dashboard.

While this project is not expected to be without challenges, we fully believe it will be well-worth the effort and outcome.

We will keep you updated regarding our progress with this undertaking and appreciate your patience during the interim.

Note: Realist® is a CoreLogic product that will continue to reference public record data provided by CoreLogic.

The “Rent Gap” Still Makes It Cheaper to Own Than Rent in These 17 Cities

Across the country, Americans are struggling with housing affordability. As home prices and interest rates continue to rise, homeownership may seem more out of reach than ever. Last year, we ran the numbers on the costs of homeownership and found that in 17 of the 33 largest metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs), owning a home was cheaper than renting.
